Our focus

Prentice Consulting has advised on both hospital procurement and development together with change management and business transformation.

 With change management and business transformation, Melissa Prentice has gained extensive experience both here in Queensland and in the United Kingdom. Melissa is a former General Manager at Uniting Care. She also has gained extensive experience in the sector at Prentice Consulting and at big four consulting firms in both Brisbane and London where she advising on a broad range of projects in senior roles.

 With hospital procurement and development, Jeremy Prentice has gained deep experience from leading the negotiations and transaction management of Queensland Health’s $17bn Capacity Expansion Program.  This entailed an intensive period of work over a two year period and resulting in the closing of over a dozen tertiary hospital expansions and new build projects.

Transaction and Negotiation Lead for the $17 billion Capacity Expansion Program.  Jeremy successfully led the transaction management and negotiation of the following hospital projects:

  • New Coomera Hospital - Cairns Hospital expansion

  • New Toowoomba Hospital - Townsville Hospital Expansion

  • New Bundaberg Hospital - Mackay Hospital Expansion

  • Redcliffe Hospital expansion - Prince Charles Hospital Expansion

  • Logan Hospital Stage 2 Expansion - Ipswich Hospital Expansion

  • Princess Alexandra Hospital Expansion - QEII Hospital Expansion. 

 

  • Sunshine Coast University Hospital PPP, advised Queensland Health on all legal aspects of this project.

Queensland Health

  • Change management and ERP transformation related subject matter expertise to Queensland Health.

  • Transformation of the Strategic Procurement and Supply Division at Health Support Queensland.

  • Strategic change and transition advice to the QHEST Program and the Corporate Services function within Queensland Health.

  • Managed the Queensland Health account for Ernst and Young.

  • Advised Queensland Health over a 4 year period on the procurement of the PPP for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and co-located private hospital with Ramsay Health Care.

  • Queensland Health Study tour to the United Kingdom for PPP hospital procurement.

  • Queensland Health Study tour to the Victoria and New South Wales for PPP hospital procurement.

Other

  • VIDA (Victoria) - advising commercial options for the Parkville Health Precinct Redevelopment and consideration of alternate approaches to PPP contracting for hospital projects

  • West Moreton Hospital and Health Service Executive and Board - deep dive strategic analysis and in the drafting of the Strategic Plan, balanced scorecard and implementation plan.

  • Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH) Project - Cultural assessment and stakeholder engagement to ensure a smooth integration of services and resources between the Mater Children’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in the initial stages of the QCH.

  • Human Resource function assessment of three Commonwealth Government Agencies, including Medicare, and made recommendations for the best model of delivery.

  • Benendon Private Hospital (UK) - Organisational transformation and effectiveness through a total hospital restructure.

  • Belfast Cancer Hospital PFI (UK) - Refer to Infrastructure tab.

  • Board Member of the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association from 2015-2017. Throughout this time the Association went through significant changes including the hiring of a new Chief Executive Officer. Melissa provided strategic advice and support and was the Chairperson of the Business Development Sub-Committee.
